I'd say the battle for best conference shouldn't just be conference RPI. May I suggest--starting next season--and best-of-3 competition. Conference RPI, head-to-head record, and NT wins. Whoever takes 2 of 3 categories wins.

Of course, next year the NAC is going to be way down, so this may be ill-timed on my part.

I want them to accept my challenges to games the only one who had the balls to play me was hutch brett but he is gone.

Did we forget about the MIAA? I'll throw us up against anyone. Our one shortcoming is the presence of 1 SIM, but having norm makes up for it.

I appreciate that polo has Case (this is still Hutch's team, I am just trying not to screw it up) being the best chance for the Upstate, but we do have the habit of tanking it on offense once in a while. It is probably only fair because our offensive ratings aren't great. That said our press should be tough and does give us a chance against most teams.

Bri, challenge me next year if you want I'll play. From my days at MSJ I have started rivalry games with teams in the Mich and Midwest conf.

Anyway, the CT's and NT should be fun.

brianp87 send me an invite I will play anyone. I try to not schedule to difficult for the whole non conference because of how grueling the conference schedule is, but in my opinion to be the best you have the beat the best. And if we want to settle this who is the best conference thing I think the only true way to do it is through head to head play.

Eaner, I agree that the MIAA is probably better than the NAC this year. I think the teams at the top of both conferences are better than anything the Upstate has to offer this year. But this is by far the best year for the NAC ever, and it's a pretty down year for the Upstate... the MIAA keeps on chugging along, and in the eyes of some, has been a better conference than the Upstate the last few years.

I'll give it up for the top teams in the NAC, I wouldn't want to be facing off with them early in the tourney. Though I can try and rationalize that the MIAA has been on the Upstate's plane the past few seasons, if push comes to shove I think that the Upstate is stronger top to bottom. Generally speaking, a 6th place team in either division in the Upstate could probably finish 3 or 4th in an MIAA division.

That's what makes judging this so difficult. The top conferences beat the snot out of each other during conference play so there aren't any #1 ranked 25-1 teams coming out of these conferences very often.

Since I didn't win my own conference, I'm declaring myself champion of the Upstate (10-2). I'm contacting admin to add that to my resume and history page.

And btw let's not forget about the Midwest Conference, which has a pretty good claim on top conference honors if you consider the past four or five seasons. But I'll be the first to admit that the lower echelon of teams in the Midwest is not so strong as the Upstate's bottom tier.
