Was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on why this guy seems to be so bad...
I'm not thinking he should be winning a CY or FotY, but he's like lighter fluid on an open flame.
I would have expected him to be a solid setup guy...

He is definitely underperforming this season. Last season was probably in-line with expectations given he is still developing. The biggest problem is that 2nd pitch. Ideally for a 2-pitch pitcher you want both to be good. Also being a lefty doesn’t help. In looking at your team defense you had the 5th most negative plays this season so that also could have been a factor. I would expect his numbers to improve, but a better defense will also help.

Young, 2nd pitch - neg. plays (spend more than 20m on payroll), and the inconsistency of a RP.

I've found that RP's without elite ratings (90+) are very hit or miss. I don't know if it's because they only have 2 or 3 pitches or what. But they can be very frustrating at times. Lefties also get smacked around more than righties (unless, again they have elite ratings)
