Round 1 – Ten Leagues
We will simultaneously play the first ten seasons. Each season will include the 24 World Series teams from a 12-year period. League 1 will be 1903-15; League 2 will be 1916-1927; etc. League 10 will be 2013-2024.
League Assignment: Owners may sign up for up to 10 leagues (max of one team per league per owner), but there is no need to signup for all 10. If you prefer baseball from the 1930s, then just signup for a team in League 3. The only advantage to signing up early is to guarantee yourself a slot in the league(s) that you want. we will do a random drawing to assign teams from that league.
So please ONLY signup for a league if you are fully committed to playing, regardless of which team you are assigned. Someone is gonna have to play the 1944 Browns in League 4.
Details for each league:
24-team leagues, standard WIS format
All NL teams will be in the NL; AL teams will be in the AL.
Divisional alignment will be in chronological order. So in season 1, the NL East will include the 1903 Pirates, 1905 Giants, 1906 Cubs, 1907 Cubs. The AL West will include the 1912 Red Sox, 1913 A’s, 1914 A’s, 1915 Red Sox.
No salary cap
No trades, no WW, injuries off
All teams will use WIS park – you will NOT be using the actual park that your teams played in. (Several people seemed to have missed this.)
For seasons 1-6, we will not use the DH.
For seasons 7-10, we will use the DH in the AL only

must roster every player who is in the WIS database for your team; no twisting.
No combined seasons; for players who appeared for more than one team, you may only use the partial season that is associated with your team. If the player did not accumulate enough PA or IP with your team to warrant a partial season, you may not use him.
We will use manually drafted AAA, with enough slots to ensure that each team can roster all of its players.
If a team does not have 25 players with eligible WIS seasons, then fill any remaining slots with any $200K season from the database.
HOWEVER: the only players who may appear in games are players who actually played for your team that season. $200K filler players, as well as any SIM-generated AAA, MAY NOT BE USED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. I will provide detailed guidelines on how you can avoid having these players appear in games, but each owner will ultimately be responsible for adherence. Use of any of these players will result in a forfeit of the games in which they appear. Frequent violations will result in disqualification from the playoffs and from participating in the championship round. If you end up with a team that is deficient in PA or IP, those are the breaks*.
UPDATE: On the advice of several experienced, respected owners, I will not be imposing forfeits on teams that inadvertently use $200K players. HOWEVER, it is still the intention of this league that those players should not be used in games, and I have provided detailed instructions on page 5 of this thread. All owners are expected to use and adhere to those protocols.
*Note that there ARE quite a few teams, especially in leagues 1 and 2, that will have a bit of a challenge here. The 1903 Boston Americans, for example, only have 16 eligible players. Now, they do have ample PA (> 5600) and IP (>1460), so fatigue per se will not be a problem, but you will be managing a team with a very limited bench. They are an extreme case, but there are other teams that will be well short of a full complement of 25 players, and you will need to be creative and thoughtful in how you manage, if you find yourself running one of those teams. Note also, that you will likely be in a league and a division where other teams are facing the same problem. So it's by no means a fait accompli that these teams can't contend.
