The Early Years Progressive is a revamped version of the former Dead Ball Era Progressive. This is a straightforward progressive which completed two seasons namely 1901 and 1902 before our commissioner went AWOL also of our twelve franchise league which uses existing cities and real nicknames six owners have left. actually this number could become eight as two of our members have yet to respond to sitemail since I stepped up in an attempt to save this league.
The available franchises are Detroit, Washington, Pittsburgh, Chicago cubs, both Philadelphia franchises, Brooklyn and Baltimore. Due to the number of available franchises being so great I decided to dissolve the existing rosters of these cities. The four committed franchises are allowed to protect ten players.
The new owners of the eight dissolved franchises will participate in a special draft consisting of these players where ten players can be selected , The order for selection of these teams will be on a first come first served basis.
After all teams have ten players the general player draft is held bringing you up to a twenty five man roster. The order for this draft will be determined by random.org as will all subsequent player drafts. Im getting 382 available players but that includes multiple team players. However I believe 300 players should be in the WIS database.
some of the players definitely available are Sam Crawford, Honus Wagner and Wee Willie Keeler. Couple notable pitchers are Addie Joss and Jack chesbro.
Forgot to mention that for the general player draft all teams will have a chance at picking first on a declining basis. Franchise A has twelve chances don to the 1902 powerhouse Giants with one chance. So a random list of 650 inegers will be selected.
The actual rules for any standard progressive are followed. Three vetoes required for veto and draft order determined at game 162 where the bottom six teams have an entrance into the draft lottery again on a declining chance basis. any further questions or expressed interest please sitemail me.
