Quarterbacks and interceptions Topic

I just finished a game against a comparable opponent in which I dominated the game and beat them in every statistic except two - score and turnovers. My quarterback threw four interceptions. He is a red shirt junior who has played for a couple of years. This is not the first time he has had interception troubles. It is also not my first quarterback who has had this trouble. Obviously there is something I am missing. I need a little help.

I have found it is either the QB's formation IQ or the formation IQ to whom he is throwing that increase interceptions. (QB strength also comes into play when you throw into tight coverage) Ideally have a 5 year QB targeting a 5 year receiver if at all possible!

It’s his FIQ. Against a quality opponent it will rear its ugly head and bite you.

His QB is a redshirt Junior so his formation IQ isn't crazy high, but it does look like he's practicing it enough and I rarely see 4 INT games so I'm not sure that's the whole story. I think the heavy-pass wishbone is a rare offense so I don't necessarily have any wisdom about it to impart but I do wonder if part of the issue is targeting RBs against DBs presents a favorable mismatch for the defense (at least until the RB catches it and presumably has an advantage eluding tackles). Seems reasonable that an offense of pass catching running backs against a normal defensive formation probably has some drawbacks.

"the heavy-pass wishbone"

That may be part of the problem right there. Trips and Shotgun are programmed to favor passing attacks. Wishbone and NDB are programmed to favor rushing attacks. Trying to use a rushing system in a passing attack gives you a higher mountain to climb..

I'm on pace to pass for over 8k yards and over 90 TDs from a wishbone offense!

People seem to THINK that the 'Bone is programmed for rushing...but it's not really that way. The entire engine favors the pass. The running capability of the Wishbone was "dialed back" from the previous engine.
