Update Divisions/Conferences & a few other changes Topic

Ive noticed a LOT of schools are in old conferernces & some moved up to D1 but still playing in D1-AA. Really need to update this.

One ot
her thing I've noticed is, ever since I began playing several years ago, it seems the game is VERY skewed toward passing. It didn't seem to be quite as bad this year but still a bias toward passing. Some prefer a ground & pound run game to tire defenses & run clock. I feel game needs to be more balanced.

I'd also like to see
changes made in recruit responses or maybe a report on grades. Some guys can't even manage basic English. Then there are guys who seem like great recruits but late in process mention theyve heard coaches turn a blind eye or someting to that effect. If I knew stuff like that early on I wouldn't waste time or money on them. We need more background info on recruits. If I know early on a guys into partying or isnt capable of basic properr grammar, I'm not interested. In general I don't recruit/sign anyone under a 2.5 GPA anyway but even a better GPA doesnt tell you if he could be trouble or is just looking to party etc. Then there are guys who say you're at top of their list but end up signing elsewhere after you've spent (wasted) thousands. That needs to change.

Time at end of season until next rercruit cycle is too long. For teams out of playoffs, theyve gotta sit around for 2 weeks & do nothing.

I guess my last point is I would like to see some sort of guide/template for building a successful team. I've played MANY seasons across all worlds & done pretty well but rarerly win big games or games vs. humans. I'm not saying just hand overr all a succesful coaches settings but it would be nice if a range for settings was given or someting. Ive gotten tips from severral coaches but theyre all basically same, stick to your 360-500 in recruiting, dont get in recruting battles w/humans, stick to 1 offense & 1 defense formation etc.but thats all very basic & stuff a newbie can learn in first 1-2 seasons. I feel it would be a lot more fun if there were more parity among human coaches & if newbies saw a lot of human teams being successful, we'd get lot more people playing. Not being able to be competitive in big games is why I left for several seasons & switched to college hoops. Its got some aspects I like & wish GD had. Lack of success in big games/playoffs is what made me leave it as well. I

I'm going to try GD at least one more seaason since Ive got enoug credits for a free season & see how I do. Granted I did have 12-15 FR so Im young in some areas but I just dont see how I can beat a top 25 team by 18 in prerseason and another top 25 in regular season but get blown out by 40-70 points in other games. Yes it was 2 teams in top 5 but it just seems a really unrealistic margin. Plus nobody likes getting crushed like that. Its one reason I almost didnt renew for next season. I'd just like to see more teams be more equal/competitive.

I rarely look at forums so if anyone has any ideas, input etc. just shoot me an email. Thanks!

Welllll, it looks like no one has responded to you so maybe I can help a bit.

The game engine needs conferences of 12, so shuffling them now would be a a major rewrite, using resources that are better spent elsewhere.

Yes, passing attacks do better than rushing attacks. C'est la vie.

There is no partying in this game any more. Don't worry about how literate the recruit seems. GPA is a predictor of how fast formation IQ will improve. A recruit may give positive responses, even wildly positive (eg. top o' list), responses to any coach whose program he is considering (is yellow). The order in which the yellow schools are listed on the recruiting page is real..

At the end of the season, if you are not in the playoffs, you need to improve your recruiting. That time can be used productively by scouting recruits for what you need, and studying what nearby schools might be your stiffest recruiting competition and at which position(s). Don't "do nothing."

Generally, start out by sticking to your 360-500 in recruiting, avoid recruiting battles w/humans, learn how to determine which battles you can't win and which are worth initiating, stick to 1 offense & 1 defense formation. You've gotten some good tips.

Beating top 25 teams in preseason may not mean as much as you think if they are playing their frosh a lot, or experimenting with new formations or new game plans. Top teams have a lot of constructive uses for exhibition games -- learn from them.

Pay attention to the forums, and you will gradually learn to separate the wheat from the chaff here. Good luck.

Stick to 1-180 starting out. A recruit 500 miles away basically costs the same as one 1300 miles away. Use this link to understand recruiting costs better. https://gdanalyst.herokuapp.com/recruitingcostcalc

Good catch, realist. I should have said not to reach beyond your 360. Limiting yourself to 180 miles could leave you lacking quality if not quantity at one or a few positions. I would fully agree with the 180, however, in season ONE. Save all the recruiting money you can if you plan to spend a few seasons in D3. Of course, not everyone does that.

Many changes and tweaks are needed, but the current code is written in hieroglyphics so don't expect many changes. I mean the Rams are still in St. Louis!
Many of the long-timers have quit inputting comments as it is a fruitless endeavor. The powers that be insinuated a complete updated game years ago, but the Rams are still in St. Louis.

Is there ever going to be another “new” world to play on in gridiron dynasty? A lot of the main schools are all taken and have been taken for many years lol

No.....they can't fill the worlds they already have.........sadly
