I was an APBA guy in the 70's. Still have the baseball and football games somewhere.
Still play a game or two on their website once in a while but somehow its not the same.

I played Strat-O-Matic but liked the Sports Illustrated baseball game, which kind of set me up for this site - they had not only the current teams, but all-time teams - the greatest 25 Yankees, Giants, etc. for all the 16 original franchises. I played that a lot.

I had never heard of APBA until I was on this site. Sounds like I missed a good game. I love OOTP now on the computer. Play it a lot, mainly random debut - players from all historical eras and you don't know which ones will show up or at what point in their careers.

Played S-O-M for over 25 years, 22 of it just using the cards and dice. So much fun playing in leagues with people from my area. Waiting on the new cards every season was like Christmas. Also loved playing the football game, but didn't enjoy the move to the computer games nearly as much. Tried the NBA game, but didn't care for it. I enjoyed the Statis Pro Basketball game much more.

Still have many of my cards stored in a large plastic container.

As far as computer sports games, I enjoy Out Of The Park baseball and a few of the Dave Koch Sports games, baseball, basketball, and golf.

Trying a few of the board games from PLAAY Games...not bad, although they are a little more complicated and take longer to play.

I feel you bingo, been playing strat for the last 5 years or so…..

APBA guy here, I think all the stuff is still in my parents' attic. Or maybe they threw it out. Had baseball and football.

Strat guy here. Played obsessively with the 1970 and 1971 cards; had a few of the old timer teams too ('61 Yanks, '50 Phillies, and ' 61 Tigers come to mind). Had a couple of buddies who also enjoyed the game, and we could play for hours on end during the endless summers. When I moved out west after college, I purchased the entire game again after seeing it in a toy store. Remember those? It had the 1985 cards. Played some solo games, but somehow or another it had lost its charm. I was in a different time and place, but to this day recall with fond nostalgia the enjoyment Strat-o-Matic provided me.
