Which Attribute Helps to Fumble Less Topic

Apparently, my RB is low on an attribute that decreases fumbles. Any ideas what needs to be higher?

Just played a game where he fumbled 5 times and lost 4 of them. I can have a quarterback start for two seasons and not throw an interception. Yet a senior rb can fumble 5x in a game. Why can't they fix this?

Was it an exhibition game against the 85 Bears?

luck...random...may ATH (63) since Tech, Hands, and STR are in the upper 80's to 90's

People don't seem to be considering that the attributes of the RB (or QB with INTs)are only one of many possible factors when it comes to determining when turnovers happen.

We don't know everything that goes into turnover calculations, but all of the following factors are potentially in play:

*defensive attributes of the tacklers and other involved units on the fumbles
*defensive attributes(coverage AND pass rush for INTs)
*other offensive attributes(run blocking on fumble plays)
*other offensive attributes(pass protection and pass target for INTs)
*offensive IQs on all involved players/units
*defensive IQs on all involved players/units
*offensive and defensive formations
*offensive and defensive playcalls
*the stamina levels of all the players involved
*good old RNG/luck

In other words 5 fumbles probably involves some bad luck and is definitely a lot more complicated than just looking at your RB's strength, hands, and tech.

A lot of calculations happen on each play.

Sure, I guess defense can play a role. So I decided to look at my opponent's previous games.

UNLV - 39 runs - 0 Fumbles
Army 33 runs - 1 Fumble
Sim 33 runs - 0 Fumbles
Notre Dame 39 runs - 0 Fumbles
Georgia Tech 35 runs - 1 Fumble
Sim 39 runs - 1 Fumble
LSU 39 runs - 5 fumbles

Starting line has 3 SRs and 2JRs. So good IQ. I would bet better than all previous opponents. ND would be similar.

You can't explain away bad and unrealistic algorithms..... or explain how most teams will have more short kickoff recoveries than interceptions in a year.

I'm definitely in agreement that overall fumble and INT stats are a little imbalanced and out of whack compared to RL football soupy, and I've had stud RBs fumble a lot in crucial situations before as well. I'm with ya.

My main point earlier was just that accurately analyzing the results of a single game or even a single play can sometimes be more complex than coaches realize and a simple reading of a RBs attributes alone doesn't necessarily give coaches enough info to know conclusively why the fumbles might have happened.

its supposed to be str and hands, but i wouldn't bet 1 cent that it has anything to do with it. if i had to bet id be all in on rng. and it happens A LOT

Long time ago in developers chat I read that attributes that most affect fumbles on a runner are Str, Hands and Tech. In which order or if they are all equal I have no idea.

Well, in the dev chat that is stickied above the current developers said they don't value tech at all for RBs if they aren't catching passes.

I suppose we should take that info with a large grain of salt though, the current regime has shown it doesn't necessarily share the same understandings and interpretations of player attributes and the game engine that the previous devs did...
