Can only see the listed position but can't see the Position Effectiveness ratings in the spreadsheet.

The new effectiveness is not ready yet.  For now just focus on the listed position because that does affect other things, so we want to be as accurate as possible.

Seeing positions without overall PE is rather pointless to be quite honest.  I'm personally more interested in seeing who's a 100 where, if all players are 100 at 2 or more positions, etc.  I hope that this would be up for review as soon as possible.

Yeah, I am interested in seeing where they're 100% at.  Lebron's 09-10 season, for example, he started 15 games at point guard and played PF for many, many minutes in many rotations.  Seeing him listed at SF tells me jack monkey squat.

Sounds like LeBron should be 100% from PG to PF like Magic.

at least in 09-10 season.
He should be 100% for sg through PF for 08-09 season, as he played a lot at the 4 then, too.  Before that... not so much.  but the argument could be made for it if we're loosening PE

I dunno about Lebron.  Ideally there would be different ratings for offense and defense, but I can understand if that's too much of a hassle.  To me, Lebron is one of many players who was tried out at PG at some point because they were good playmakers, but in the end was moved to a different (and more natural) position, in large part because they couldn't defend other PGs well or were just better suited defending other positions.  Steve Smith and (cough, cough) Vernon Maxwell come to mind, but there are many other examples.  Maybe Lebron is simply a SF, who should be 100% at SG and highly rated at PF, who happens to be a great playmaker...that doesn't make him a PG in any holistic sense.

he wasn't moved back from PG because he couldn't defend, though.  He was moved back because Mo Williams came back.  He was averaging a ridiculous amount of assists during that stretch, too, iirc.

From the link ash posted in the salaries thread: "In addition, because of some errors in listed positions throughout the seasons, some players were given skewed defensive ratings. That problem was most evident in the 08-09 batch of players"

So according to the above quote, apparently for some reason the listed position actually affects the D ratings.

Just quickly scanned listed positions for each player season starting with the letter A. I got down to Artest. (Probably better if someone just looked at the last 2 seasons instead of going through every player.)

His 08-09 season should be SF, not SG.
