Question about things Topic

What park were you thinking of using?

Can you win a ring with a great pitching - greating fielding - great range - poor hitting team in an OL?  Assuming you can actually build such a team on budget, you CAN.  It is extremely unlikely tho.

However, it really depends on what you call great pitching and great fielding.  A truely great pitching staffs cost more than $40K and so does great fielding and range at each position, so I am not sure how you get them on-budget.  Would you care to clarify your strategy?  I assume you will use old-time pitchers... are you limiting yourself to A/A+ fielders?

1B fiedling means next to nothing, you know.  Unless it is just for the point of this exercise, I'd wouldn't pay for "A" fielding at first....

But, I think you could win with that kind of strat-- I have a similar team doing well in an OL now.

Well, get ready for a lot of low scoring one run losses, many in extra innings...
You might be in for a frustrating season, like looking at the boxscores to see your pitcher giving up 2 hits but losing 1-0...

Personally I'd advise against going too extreme with D, you don't need great D at every position, it's expensive while good bats are a lot cheaper since the last salary update. You should maybe trade D for good bats at 1B and one of the OF at least.

GL with your first ring quest!

Oh so you got that team running already!

I looked up your team, good OBP but the AVG and SLG is a little low. Great start, hope they keep it up!

I was looking at your guy 1965 Donn Clendenon for my team but went with some lefty hitting
Yea I was little afraid of his fielding % at first but he's got great range, good bat for AVG and SLG, even some decent speed and is pretty cheap for all that. Just check out the amazing numbers he gave me, 3rd on the MVP!
And to say he'd never been drafted before, I think that will change...

Heck the bad thing I can see at all is his 3 to 1 strike outs to base on balls
Yea, my main concern with guys who strike out a lot is that they might leave too many runners standing but he drove in 148 so I guess he more then made up for it!

this is my 1st baseman for phase #2 1914 Steve Evans he has some great numbers plus lefty but he cost $1mil more then DONN

Oh yea, if you can afford the extra million, '14 Evans sure has a killer bat!

'94 Jack Doyle is both a stud and a major bargain.
