A tale of two pitchers Topic

I drafted these pitchers for my first OL team in over two years:

1919 Babe Adams
307 IP
ERC# 1.80
WHIP# 0.96
OAV# .223

1919 Waite Hoyt
125 IP
ERC# 2.83
WHIP# 1.17
OAV# .261

Home park is Safeco, and the defense is pretty good with several A+ rangers.  Neither pitched tired at any point in the season.  Here's how they've done thru 145 games:

1919 Babe Adams
317 IP
26-3
ERA 1.22
WHIP 0.87
OAV .214

1919 Waite Hoyt
104 IP
6-8
ERA 6.06
WHIP 1.75
OAV .325

A bit baffling to me how one pitcher could surpass his RL stats, and the other fall far short.

I've used '19 Adams in 255mil leagues a lot. He's usually .5ERA worse than Joss/Maddux/Pedro/Johnson. One of the more underrated seasons in the database.

1919 Adams is my most drafted pitcher.  At 80-120M (the only caps I've used him at) he never disappoints.
