6- or 7-man rotation Topic

Have any of you found great success using 6 or 7 guys with between 100-150 IP in your starting rotation? I have an OL where I'm doing it now, and I don't have enough relief innings to keep up.

I find a 6 man rotation with each guy at around 200 IP is successful. Then you don't need a bullpen.

I like to use cheap 6-man rotations in $80 MM OL with guys like Monty Stratton, Ray Caldwell, Bill Burns, Schoolboy Rowe, etc. You can usually bring a good one in for under $30 MM -- as low as $27 MM if you skip Stratton and Caldwell and really work at it.

I'm about to try a 9-man rotation with all 100-150 IP pitchers -- Elmer Steele, Art Nehf, Fred Toney, C.C. Sabathia, Cal Eldred and guys like that. I think it's costing me $33 MM, and then I have a $9 MM bullpen and a $37-$38 MM offense with two positions punted . I'll let you know how it turns out. Something tells me it won't be very good.

I just finished an open league using 10 pitchers between 100 and 150 IP's with Milacki as my closer. pitching and hitting was split 50-50,40 mil each and I played at CBP. Surprisingly I won 96 games...and not to my surprise I lost in the 1st round 3-2. I had to do a little bit of micro managing to avoid fatigue ....definitely going to give it another try.
