Is there, in the draft center a way to tell how many pitches a guy threw in his season?
Or is there a site where this information can be located? Thanks

i use ip/g and go off of that. there's some number people use to multiply with it to find pitches/game but i dont get that technical

if you use 15 * their RL IP/162 then you should be in the neighborhood. there's a formula to be more precise, search for posts by elbirdo

actual pitches thrown isnt a factor. the approximation is close to actual pitches on average. 15* IP/162 is a good estimate for your basic lowBB pitcher. If he has more walks or a lot of Ks then 16*IP/162 is a better estimate.

I do this too, but use 15.5 instead of 15....

So then are guys with more walks and/or more K's gonna fatigue faster ? because presumably they will use more pitches per inn. then a guy with a higher .oav who just puts the ball in play?- Thanks, the recent posts on pitches etc.. have been helpful also...I know it's gonna take some trial and error.

No. Guys who throw more walks and k's are allotted more pitches per inning. That way they fatigue very nearly the same.

Thanks all.
booger why is that? don't I figure their pitches per inning the same though? So a guy with low BB/9 and low K/9 and obviously a higher .oav will fatigue less in a hitters park of +1 or +2 because he's gonna put the ball in play more. So I need better than avg. fielding with him. Looking to form a staff of 1350 IP in a Palace ballpark. with somewhat avg. hitting, and a better BB/SO ratio. Any random thought will be taken into consideration.

Correct me if im wrong, but they are allotted more pitcher per inning, bc they threw more pitches per inn in real life. I.e. Nolan Ryan with 300 IP would throw a lot more pitches than say Maddux with 300 IP, yet they both got to 300 innings for the season. Realistically, your looking at an average of 15-16 pitches per inning regardless of the stadium you play in. Yes, +1 +2 parks are going to put the ball in play more, but that also means more hits, which offsets everything else.. make sense? I dont get too technical with it all or you will drive yourself crazy!! I usually draft 1250-1350 IP for my better pitching teams in a pitchers park, or 1350+ for my better hitting teams in a hitters park... thata formula seems to work out well for me!

haha duly noted. Glad to be off.. id like to thank friends and family, and also booger. if it werent for our group hug and butt slap, id probably still be there.

Yeah, BornIrish has it right. Pitchers get a base number of pitches per RL IP plus extra pitches based on their BB/9, K/9, and H/9 allowed. Real life strikeout pitchers don't tend to pitch less innings in the sim at all. In fact, modern strikeout leaders often easily eclipse their RL innings because they strike out less batters against sim competition than in RL and bank those pitches.
