If you have pitcher 1 set at Setup A and pitcher 2 set at Long B, both pitchers are set to be available in any inning, how does sim chose which one to use? Does sim go to a setup man after a certain inning if you have a long relief pitcher available?

My AAA SP is '09 Brad Penny and ive been considering using him in a Long B role. Thanks

mostly it depends on the score and the inning. nobody knows the exact formula. in general setup will be called 6th inning or later in a close game, long b if it's a blowout or early in the game. there may be other factors such as fatigue, matchups, etc.

Sparky is supposed to use any "A" role pitcher bfore any "B" role pitcher. So in your example, if you had the lead in the 4th, and a change had to be made, Sparky would bring in your Set Up A if not given the option of a Long A. If you were losing, Sparky would probably go with your Long B, probably.

I almost always use my AAA starter as a long B unless he's a real gem I can use as a long A or setup A.
