After 8 months and nearly 10,000 games, the sixth annual WIS Championship has come to an end.
Wildthings1 is the 2009 WIS Champion.
He did it with unbelievable consistency, by averaging 95.8 wins per team in round 1, then following that up with an average of 96.3 wins in round 2, against the very best competition imaginable. He saw 10 of his 12 teams make the playoffs, including 5 teams that won over 100 games. Although he had no World Series wins, he actually locked up first place well before the round 2 playoffs ended.
sgsmith, who had all 6 round 1 teams making the playoffs, took second place overall, thanks to both his round 2 playoff teams winning their respective World Series. He finished a whopping 55 points behind the leader. Just to put that into perspective, 55 points behind 2nd place would be good for 9th place.
