Does a championship from one of these BS rookie leagues count? I say no.

I'd love to hear why

I was going to say that there's nothing wrong with it, but since grizzly took that position I will switch to the 'Its BS!' side.

you'd be wrong on all three guesses....but let's not get sidetracked, the thread isn't about me...it's about your elitist comment. Why you would concern yourself with what themes people play in and the "level of difficulty" of the themes is beyond me.

If I remember correctly, my second championship came from one of those leagues.

I like the idea of no-champs leagues. keeps people interested who might otherwise give up in frustration. and unlike OLs you can graduate from those leagues by winning one you cant hang out there beating up on rookies over and over again.

Although I've seen one particular commish of this sort of theme "graduate" to the same theme, with the addition of one line to the league description: "one or fewer championships" and then "two or fewer championships" etc.

Not surprisingly, these changes in rules coincided exactly with said commish winning his first, second, etc. championship...

I don't see what's BS about it Alebenta. I think it's a great way to level the playing field. The best way to run it is to require that all owners have two or three seasons under their belt so you avoid getting some clown with lots more experience entering as a first timer under an "alias." I was commish of one of these and sure enough it happened to our league, and he won going away.
