AAA Pitcher Effectiveness Topic

Can someone please explain just how effective a AAA SP with an effectiveness rating of an 8 SHOULD be? Thanks.

What type of AAA?

In general, AAA pitchers don't perform as well as hitters usually do.

Real life ERC# between 2.77 & 3.16. Unfortunately, if you have average AAA, which open leagues do, he'll only pitch 30-35 innings.

actually cespencer that is for an effectiveness of 9. Your guy won't be quite as good, but you can get as much as 50 innings from him.

Is there a chart for effectiveness that compares that number to ERC#, as the charts developed for other ratings?

Is this what you are looking for

5 4.01 to 4.31

6 3.74 to 4.01

What does his effectiveness rating have to do with innings?

Nothing directly. But if you have an average AAA guy with an effectiveness rating of 9 you are likely to get fewer IP from him than an above average AAA guy with the same rating. The reason is that the salary range for average AAA is lower than the salary range of above average AAA. So you have two pitchers that are roughly equally effective, but one has a significantly higher salary than the other in real life. The only way that's possible is if he pitched more innings in real life.

Sure.

But If I do a search with the ONLY criteria being an 8 Effectiveness rating and an open league AAA salary range it shows as many as 94 ip and even the 500th player on the list (sorted by ip) is at 60.

Even if I plug in a rating of 9, I can get 89ip and the 500th guy is at 57.
If I sort by $/ip I can find a 39ip guy, though MOST of them are in the 50-70 ip range.

So it seems strange that both guys added their insight as to how many ip he will get, yet both of them seem to have guestimated on the very low end of the spectrum with the lone piece of information that is presented by mixtroy.

This is the part I was/am questioning. How can that assertion be made based on an 8 effectiveness rating alone?

The one guy said 30-35ip max, and the next guy said oh he's not quite that good but you can get 50ip out of him.

I just wonder what I am missing.

A screw and several marbles (its hard to tell exactly how many with just the info you gave me, but I'd say between 7-10).
