I have read a little about the new update but haven't played in probably 6 months or so, can anyone shed some light on how the update is affecting play?

Has old time D gotten better and modrn D worse, and why didn't they just normalize fielding instead of making relative to the pitchers era, that doesn't seem to make much sense to me.
