Pitcher Trade Vetoes Topic

The latest trend in theme leagues is frequent trading of $200k pitchers in order to reset their fatigue. this has become more popular since other loopholes have been closed. an increasing number of people are now vetoing all such trades. Is this a good trend? should this loophole be agrressively stopped, or should traders be alone?

I always veto such trades, and i think the loop hope should be closed. I have no problem with a manager playing a fatigue strategy, but this smacks of collusion among those who practice that strategy.

I definitely feel this should be closed...when you trade for a player, all of his baggage should come too.

Seems like a pick-ur-poison. If you trade for players that are going to be coming in fatigued, the trading process becomes a lot more complicated. Perhaps a simple solution would be to not allow players to be traded unless they are at or below 100% fatigue? Anything else gets blocked by the system.

I agree with this. Perhaps the fatigue number can be displayed in the trade screen so someone can easily tell if they are getting an overworked player or not.

I meant at least 100%. 'At or below pace' may have been a better way to state that.

I've made a couple of these trades myself, but I agree it should be closed.

I think if you trade for a player at 22% fatigue, you should get a player at 22% fatigue. It seems like it should be a simple thing to fix.

As long as WIS shows fatigue levels clearly, in trade screens, they should carry it forward through the trade.

I'll bring it to admin's attention.

ALL trades involving pitchers should be vetoed anyway....just on general principle.

Why? If both parties agree to the deal, why block it? Since when is it taboo to trade or trade for a pitcher? I'll play devil's advocate... Are you unable to control your team's fatigue issues as well as the next guy?

Everyone knows basically how many IP they need to get thru the season. If I tank a position when drafting my team, and want to move a scrub pitcher for say, a catcher or 1b with potential, why not allow the deal? I can draft 200k guys to eat innings the first few games if I like..To each his own, I say...

I will agree that player fatigue should not be reset to 100% when a player is traded. If they're fatigued when you acquire them, they should stay fatigued until the needed rest has taken place...

I don't think anything should be changed. Sure there are people who will "use up" a pitcher before trading him, but if this is something that you notice happening with great frequency in a league, post about it in the league message forum and get everyone to veto those owners' trades.

All of the suggested "fixes" I've read in this thread would make playing at WIS less enjoyable, IMO.

How do you know what will benefit a team more, over the course of the season, especially mine? That "A" stamina catcher might hit .360 for me, and complete my team much better than that unneeded scrub that I threw away....I usually draft at least 2 200k arms, I don't need to call up another to make my team better...

I can't help it if newbies draft 1,000IP or less, even though it's clearly posted that you should draft X amount of innings to get thru the season. Personally I'm not looking to exploit them, or anyone else, in a trade like that..I can cause fatigue problems early for any owner by sending a mop out there for an entire opening series, set him on 1 and at an unlimited number of pitches...I don't need to make a trade to do that...

You want to ban this type of trade in a Champs league, or in a theme as well?
