Whew, Bill Donovan got the win (Tigers 7, Dodgers 3).
I was in round 1 of the playoffs. I won the first two games and then lost a ridiculous 16-12 game where my entire bullpen got tired (one guy emerged at 98%, so I set him to mop up... he's OK in real life, but not great - 1907 Ed Killian). So for game 4, I needed Wild Bill to go the distance if he could. I never used to worry about in-game fatigue with my starters in must-win games, but noticed a few instances in the regular season where my high innings starters began wearing down. I once had the 365 IP 1917 Eddie Cicotte go 170 pitches and the 9th inning was crazy - he walked like six guys. So I figured I better put a cap on Wild Bill.
