Why not set up in the "scouting" what the opponent has done in the last 5 games... or even their proposed lineup for the next game... it should not hurt knowing the lineup as the Pitchers are always set going into the next game...... what do ya think?

Well, knowing what the opponent has done in the last 5 games means nearly nothing as there are no built in hot streaks.
It might not "hurt" to know what the other team's lineup is, but it doesn't "help" either, so I don't see Admin taking the time to program something like that.
Your starting pitcher is locked, and if the lineup scouting was to have any glimmer of meaning, the lineups would be locked as well, which would actually eliminate the purpose of scouting since you'd be with zero maneuvarability.
Also, in real life, for those that care about that, starting pitchers are more locked in to rotations and therefore predictible in terms of when they start, whereas lineups are not known until the lineup card is presented 15 minutes before the game.

Locking catchers might be a good idea too. Teams who "switch" catchers 1 minute before game time from a bad-armed one to a good-armed one can really mess-up the opponents stealing strategies. And that sucks. No player should benefit because they are manipulating real-time clock management.

You can just look up their past 5 games...

That'd be hard to do without locking lineups in too...

Maybe just look and see which catcher they ususally use? And if they split time evenly, treat it as such?
