Is this real?! New ownership email! Topic

Per the email:
WhatIfSports has been acquired by Freking Sports, LLC, a Cincinnati-based group made up of avid users just like you. After months of collaboration with the team at SportsHub, we've successfully transferred ownership, and we are ready to breathe new life into WhatIfSports.

I am thrilled to assume the role of President of WhatIfSports. Over the last 18 years, I have played more than 120 seasons of HBD, along with a few stints in HD and GD. Like many of you, it has been a part of my daily routine for years. I am also well aware of the need for feature enhancement and development. We are prepared to invest in the platform and give it the resources and attention it needs.

Its true but I've seen enough of these acquisitions to wait and see what really happens. On the plus side this is the first "non corporate" purchase by people genuinely interested in the product. The tough part (for them) is to pick which product to start with and which things they focus on..

Wishing them the best of luck! It's exciting and hopefully works. I'm also going to buy a bunch of packs this week and think anyone who loves the games and has the money should, give them a little bump to make the road easier.

I am very happy with this news. Everyone has the right to be skeptical -- prior ownership certainly gave them reason to be -- but ANY movement on the product stacks is a good news. I'm all for giving fresh people a new shot. The bar to succeed is incredibly low, atm.

Potentially fantastic news! Can't wait to see the updates they make!

Anyone find any information on Freking Sports LLC? What have they done in the past or is this a totally new business?

Un-Freking-believable. I hope it turns out Freking great.

It sounds like this is a group of WIS users. They probably just started this LLC specifically for this purchase. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, I didn't look into it.

It’s going to undoubtedly take a while just to go through all of the code to figure out what it currently does before they can change anything so I don’t expect to see much in the near term. But it is good to see that people who are seriously into the games are taking over. It at least provides reason for optimism.

aligned with all the sentiment above and i think you're right poncho. best-case scenario imo -- hard to imagine the product become a big cash cow so if anyone is going to invest in it, it'd be a group of passionate users

Is it too late to renew with the 'new discount' for existing users? I know it was .....15, but I don't know what the first part was. Do you have any clue?
