Has anyone had luck with redshirting a senior? Did they come back the following season?

I tried reshirting a sophomore once and he lost half his WE so I've never tried an upperclassman since.

The last time I tried was quite a while back, and he did NOT come back. So I have not tried it since.

I had done it a few times before that and they just lost WE. So, it was a bit of a surprise to me. So, bottom line: it's a roll of the dice.
