Why do you act entitled and aggressive, expecting everyone to rally around you when you’re not engaging in other people’s leagues/ideas at all?

I’ve seen you post complaints in other threads about how quiet it is here and how you can’t find a league that matches exactly what you want.

It’s quiet on the forums because we have a very active Discord server that we use. You’re welcome to join if you want to be more active in the leagues that are running, and if you dont call people c*nt for no reason.

There are also leagues that are pretty close to what you’re looking for, but to my understanding you burned a bridge in one of them and nitpick small aspects of other ones and expect everyone to just rally around your ideas instead. If everyone acted like that, we’d have ZERO leagues and a bunch of people just fighting. Luckily you’re the outlier and you’re welcome to join us at any time.

It is sad that this place doesn’t do anything to attract new users, and how the ownership doesn’t do anything to improve the site. But leagues are out there. I’m in like 10 active leagues + progressives right now and have declined joining another 10 that are currently active, and none of those are open leagues (I forgot open leagues are a thing tbh). I’d encourage you to join some of the leagues that are running and build a rapport instead of just coming in aggressive at users who would be happy to be friendly with you instead of being the target of your rants. We’re not the ones ruining the site, we’re trying our best to keep it active and fun.

But yeah sure, smaller leagues would be nice. As well as like 200 other things, but I doubt they’ll ever give them to us.

I've been in many leagues already and I'm tired of there being 12 LeBrons and 9 Currys and 7 Jordans and 9 Rodmans in every league. You say you are in progressive leagues, with the 24 team requirement you can't even start a progressive league until the 1988-89 season when the league went to 25 teams, and even that will be tight with only handful of extra players above the 288 needed to fill the rosters of 24 teams.

If these pricks would make 8, 12 and 16 team leagues available we could have progressive leagues that start in the 51-52 season, which is the first season available here. I'm not interested in playing politics and making friends. I just want to have more options than this place has now for the makeup of leagues. And that decade league thing that you say is close to what I want doesn't interest me after the 1980s anyway. And now they seem to be going with like 1986 to 1995 rather than a real decade, and I don't like that idea either. The guy who runs it was the only guy who had a problem with me, amerk, and he was just a jackoff. You can go back and read the threads if you want. They didn't like me coming in and winning my division in my first year in the league. They all thought I was crazy when I drafted Archie Clark early, who was a huge superstar for 2-3 years in the 70s, and they never heard of him before.

Almost everybody wants there to be leagues available with fewer than 24 teams. So let's let these schmuck who run the site know that in spades.

Leagues you’re currently in: 0
Times you post aggressive rants and attacks per day lately: 20

I’m also in plenty of progs that use older players. I’d try to explain how they work politely but you’ll probably just ignore it and call me names.

Have a good day. Or try to.

So tell me, how does a Progressive league use 50s and 60s players in a 24 team league?

Lots of options: Double-era, or Dual season, or designated replacement players added to fill minutes, or an all encompassing format like URAPP.

Look, we’re all disappointed that leadership isn’t doing much to improve things. But the people you’re interacting with and calling names are not the reason for your frustrations. We’re other users creating things to try to improve the site (leagues, discords, solutions) while you naysay our ideas and don’t contribute anything aside from complaints.

For instance, we (read: Ben and Rob) actually DID get WIS to fix defensive ratings of old school players, but they did so by providing a solution and giving WIS a list of suggested defensive rating changes for guys like Bill Russell. They didn’t just rant and call everyone else names, they created a tangible solution.

One user created a website for his progressive so that people could keep track of historical records for the league. No one paid him to do so, he’s just another user.

These are the types of things that people can rally behind ^ not rants and name calling. Just trying to explain why people aren’t interacting with your post.

Take care.

I gave them solutions. I told them what the schedule and playoff format should be for 8, 12 and 16 team leagues. It would be very easy to do for a competent programmer.

grayfox must have deleted his post before I saw it. Same thing with ashamael I guess. Wonder what they had to say.

What the bosses here don't seem to realize is that the smaller the leagues are the more championships there are to go around. Right now only one out of every 24 teams wins a championship. If you have 8 team leagues then you have 3 championships for every 24 teams. Twelve team leagues means twice as many championships to go around.

Championships mean happy customers. Not winning means unhappy customers. I've never even got to a championship round. I'm betting that guys who used to play a lot have quit because it's so hard to win a championship in a 24 team league. Only 4% of teams win a championship in a 24 team league.

I don't get what the problem is with making smaller leagues available. The baseball game here has various sizes of leagues available, why not basketball?

does WIS have NIL legacy licensing deals on the big 4 sports or are the seasons and name use rights just available as public access?

What's with this ashamael guy?

He's made 2 posts in this thread now and deleted both of them before I could read them.

Now they are showing a post by 24kpyrite from 25 minutes ago, and that one is also gone before I could read it.

Am I on Candid Camera here?

I am for having some variety in the number of teams required to form a league. I think its a good idea.

While the programmers are at it, I would love to see additional filters similar in wis baseball where you can sort by American League/National League, etc.
I would like to be able to sort by NBA/ABA and Eastern Conference/Western Conference.
