14-15 Player Watch Topic

Players to watch for draft leagues this year.  Not too many 1st and 2nd rounders due to short minutes.  But there are some good role players.

My thoughts:

Anthony Davis- a 2nd/3rd rounder now and might be a higher 2nd rounder for this season.  Dominate numbers but short on minutes
Steph Curry- Even better than last year, snuck into the 1st round this year a couple of times.  Now might be a staple there, depends how his defense shakes out
Lebron- Great year but has other years that are better
Chris Paul- Same great year but has other years that are better
James Harden- Better year with rebounding, assists and usage.  Shooting is basically the same as last year.  Has been a 3rd/4th round pick in draft leagues.  May move into the bottom of the 2nd/ high 3rd round.  Again depends how they rate is defense.
DeMarucs Cousins- Some really good numbers for him but short on minutes and eFG might be a little shaky.  But he could be a latter round pick if someone needs offense at the PF/C spot
Kyle Korver- 70% TS? Wow.  He could be a 5th/6th round pick
Rudy Goubert-  Great rounding 14.4/27.1 with a 7.2% Blk (sure they will nerf that a little) with lowish fouls. Should end up with 2000 plus minutes.  Could be a 3rd to 6th round pick
Russel Westbrook- Great season for him but won't work in the SIM, eFG way too low with Usage way too high
Andre Drummond- 18/30 rebounding but he gotten more involved with the offense.  eFG is going to be low with a 20% usage.  Last season is more useful

Let me know if I missed anyone

Andre Iguodala- low usg%, high efg% wing (although there are already plenty of those)
Paul Millsap- if he is 99-100% @ SF, could be a good late round pick
Enes Kanter (OKC)- will probably have bad defense, but good shooting, rebounding and scoring. short on minutes.
Hassan Whiteside- short minute, super-good shooting, rebounding, and defense.
DeAndre Jordan- basically an even better version of his last season
Pau Gasol- a bit low on efg% for the amount of usg he has, but should be a good rebounder and passer
Tyson Chandler- same as usual
Nerlens Noel- could be a low usage shutdown wing (if he is 99-100 @ SF)
Draymond Green- same story as Noel, except can hit some 3's.

Wow Hassan Whiteside.  A studly 900 minutes..

Yeah forgot about DeAndre better season this year and maybe better defense.

Hassan Whiteside.  Wow.  50% CR%, 61%efg with 21% usage and only an 11% TOV ... plus a 9.5 block%.

Depending on the defensive rating they give him, which should be high, he might the best low minute player in the sim.  He's like an improved 09-10 Greg Oden with twice the minutes.

Any guesses on how a 900 minute Durant season is going to look?

How long will it take them to give us the new players after the season ends?

Players come out a couple days after the season is over but the defense ratings are not complete.  They update the players once the all defense teams are announced

Yeah that's pretty great 500 minutes but if I'm going to use Brandon Wright prefer 11-12

cp3's best shooting season by far.  Almost 55% efg & lots of threes.  Still less than 13% tov%, too.

I'll be curious to see how the SIM treats Westbrook. His high usage and relatively low efg combined with his TOs may make for a SIM poison.

As long as the defensive ratings are accurate, Kawhi should have another nice season.

This might be the first John Wall season that's usable in the sim.

They might even need to stop playing that "It's just another brick from John Wall" song, after this season.
