Here is another thought...
in the past I would run slow down with a poor offensive team, but a good defensive team. This would allow me to score based on generating turnovers, and then run a plodding offense to limit the number of possessions that the other team would have. A half court offense is good when you have a great passing PG that is not a high scorer and partner that PG with solid 3pt shooting and strong OReb. I would like to see the other team because while you shoot at a good clip your OReb and TO's would seem to be a potential Waterloo against teams that a good on the boards and play solid D.
Don't view that as a critique of your team...I think it is a solid team, and definately an Up Tempo team.
defense has been almost irrelevant since you left. With the recent salary changes, this might again be a viable strategy.
I made a point to try and test the value of good defense in my most recent team. Besides rookies, the lowest defensive rating for any of my players is 78 (Billy Cunningham (73-74); playing 14 min a game at PF and SF). My lowest starter is Johnny Moore (PG) with an 81 ratting. Everyone else is 90 def rating or higher. I'm currently 12-5 and tied for the best record in the conf. More importantly, I lead the league in opponents FG% at 42.3. The next closest team is holding opponents to 44.2. I'm only 5th in pts against at 103.9, but I have been running Up Tempo for 10 of the 17 games (Half Court for the other 7).
It would appear that defense is important again.
