I had 1997 Greg Maddux in an open league (before the last 2 updates) who started a season 22-2.  He had only 11 BB in just under 200 IP at that point, and had pitched 5 CG shutouts.  In his last 12 starts, he went 2-5, to finish 24-7.  He was in a 4-pitcher starting rotation and never pitched at less than 100%.  The team finished 72-90, and Maddux was the only SP with a winning record.

I have tried 1997 Maddux several times since in open leagues and $80M theme leagues, but his results have never been anything close to this great start.

Using the old long A strategy when that was viable I had Maddux go 70-2 once.

Those smoke & mirrors Long A/Tandem pitchers oughta have an asterisk next to their records.  I had Silver King go 73-10 -- as a straight-up starter!  Old school!

Of course, the other pitchers on that team went 11-68, and we missed the playoffs.  Nevertheless...

In an $80m theme league I had the 2000 Pedro go 31-1 in a straight 4-man rotation. The team finished 1 game out of the WC, unfortunately...

Also of note: Shoeless Joe collects a couple hits, pushing his hit streak to 36 games.  He already had a 27 gamer earlier in the season -- and we're only 75 games in!
