After about a decade on this site I've finally tried playing live.

All in all I like it.  It doesn't take that long to play a game, the process wasn't confusing, and  in the league games I didn't have to worry about Sparky making a bonehead pitching change.

Doesn't anyone know what Live Quick Start means?  What commissioners set up a league that's a Yes/No option.  I think it means your starting pitchers are automatically filled in depending on who's scheduled to pitch next.

IIRC, Live Quick Start means that after the opening day games have been simmed, the rest of the scheduled is pushed back (I believe a week or 10 days, something like that).  This gives owners time to get in a bunch of live games while the schedule (the sim schedule, that is) is temporarily suspended.

Okay - thanks.  That makes sense.

The one thing I wasn't prepared for was the computer NOT slotting in my next scheduled pitcher.

Some questions for Live leaguers -

Can the league be set up so that you can play all games against an opponent in one session?
What happens when an owners goes missing before completing his schedule?

Yeah, in a live league you and your opponent can get all your games out of the way at once, if you want to.

And if an owner goes missing, your games with him will just sim as they would in a regular league.

You're not required to play all your games live anyway.  Most live leagues have a live game minimum in place (like 40 or 60 or 80 games) that you have to reach in order to qualify for the playoffs.  There are usually a few owners in every league who, for whatever reason, don't reach the minimum.
