number 2 hitter Topic

I couldn't decide who should be my number two hitter behind '44 Snuffy Stirnweiss and in front of '93 Barry Bonds. I am going to use either '05 Derek Jeter or '22 Ken Williams. Any suggestions?

simplest answer is bat Jeter #2 because he has less power, let Williams hit his HR with more men on base. I'm a contrarian and would probably bat Williams #2 against Righties. Ken's a lefty with a favorable matchup, he's a better hitter so you want to get him more PA, and he has more speed. Jeter for sure against Lefties and I might bat Bonds 4th.

Thanks for the advise. I'm gonna go with Jeter against lefties and Williams against righties. I have plenty of other homeruns in my lineup so I should be fine. But bonds has the best avg. and OBP. in my lineup and i have '01 Sosa batting fourth

I know this doesn't answer your question...but as a former high school head coach, it  made me smile.  In real life, I liked a hitter that could make contact combined with good speed.  If they had gap power, it made things even better.  Most of the time, I use this same strategy in the sim (if possible)...although I learned quite some time ago that real life strategy doesn't necessarily work here at WIS.  Good luck with your team!
