I am new and trying to get the hang of this... I want to know how can you tell what pitchers are going to be effective in which stadiums? I have Christy Mathewson and Andy Pettit pitching very well on the road and horrible at home. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Less than half a season is a small sample size, especially when you're dividing it by home and away.  I wouldn't worry about the park.

Also, you seem to be underusing Mathewson.  He's your best starter -- you should be sending him to the mound whenever he's not tired.

Finally, you drafted too many innings for an OL.  If you're the sort of person who pays fairly close attention to your team, you can easily get by with 1200-1300 drafted innings (provided you use your AAA, draft good pitchers, and don't use Coors).  You pay for two things when you draft a player: quantity (IP or PA) and quality.  Cut back on the former and you can afford more of the latter.

I'm already using a 4 man rotation... Should I take someone out of the rotation and move one of the starters to the bullpen or leave it like it is and just insert Mathewson whenever he is ready to pitch.

If you have time to check your team every day, I'd say stick in Mathewson whenever he's ready.

And you have so many innings you can afford to drop Pettitte to the WW and get an upgrade somewhere else.

Thanks man.... would you look to upgrade with pitching or hitting?

Hey, I'm in that league, too.  I'm not going to get much more specific, ha ha.

LOL! Well you have been very helpful up to this point. I am just hoping to be a .500 ball club. I am just sick of losing in every season... this is my 4th team and I haven't even been competitve.

Thanks for you help man... Good luck this season!

your question would take pages to answer. In stadiums like Dodger that favor singles hitters, I look for pitchers that have low OAV#s and BB/9s of under 2.5/9. I don't worry quite as much about the HR/9+ or ERA+ there. You don't give the iteration of your Mathewson or Pettite so it's hard to really help you out. If you can be more specific about the park you've chosen, the version of the pitcher, etc.. we might be able to give more insight.
