To Hold Runners on or not!!! Topic

How can it possibly be that catcher who had great throwing years (Jady, Cannizzaro, IRod) have solid success throwing runners out that are not held on.  When you have a Tim Raines, Ricky Henderson, Eric Davis or others who had basically an 80% success rate when being held on, if you play behind them and give them 2 or 3 more steps, their success rate has to go up considerably.   Doesnt appear that SIM adjusts for that.

Not talking about the deadball guys who stole 80 and got threw out 50 times.

Thoughts?

I have wondered this also recently. I have had Rained gunned down twice in the SAME game at 2nd  base by a B arm while not being held on. This is not realistic. He was caught 5 times on the season 50/55 and i'm sure he was held on every single time.  Yet in the sim, he can get caught with an extra lead and jump not held?  What kinda logic is this ?
