I havent really played people out of postion, but I am seeing some value of doing that at 1B. So my question is if I played an C+/C- outfielder at first base he would map to C+/C- 1B. His fielding percent at this time would be around .985. Add on a 2% fielding penilty for OOP to get a final result of a .965 fielding %. Would that be correct? And with that .965 fielding percent am I looking around 25 errors about?

In a progressive, I started a B/D- outfielder at 1b for 25 games. The infield rounded out at A/B+ at 2b, D+/D- at 3rd and A/C at ss.
His line: 0 errors, 179inn, 171po, 16ass, 10dp and 0 + or - plays.

I think if you lowered your expectations just a tad he'd conform to them.

There are far fewer error commited at 1st base than one would expect from fielding percentage. As long as you don't play someone trulu awful there (D or less) I don't think errors will be an issue.

Has anyone used a DH lately at 1B? I'm going to have to use one in a prog soon, and was wondering what to expect in the way of errors...

D/D- OF @ 1st base for 65 games 10 errors,0+/2- not bad I think.

What's expected if you play a 1Bman in the Outfield?
