In one league I'm in, I've had Vince Coleman steal home several times already, including a couple "walk-offs"...I've never had a guy do it this much before.

Did guys like Coleman actually have more steals of home in real life, or does that not matter in the SIM?

I'm pretty sure Coleman almost never stole home, or even tried. I don't think that's part of the sim.

Modern base stealers rarely have tried to steal home, however forold-timers such aplay was much more routine. My guess is that WIS "averages" out such attempts such that modern players doit much more often than in reallife and old-timers do it much less than theyactualy did.

The link I posted is a helpful guideline ... although keep in mind that stats kept during the early years of baseball are not the most accurate (and it's stated that on that page).

Amongst modern-era players, Rod Carew was the most profilic stealer of home.

The side-note at the bottom of the page detailing what Eric Young and Chris Stynes did as of recent (well, 1996) was also rather interesting.

Two things that surprised me:

1) Cobb never had two in a game

2) Molitor had 10 for his career

I'd be interested to see what pitchers have had home stolen on them the most

Even Babe Ruth stole home 10 times.

Must've been on the days he refrained from his beloved hot dogs.
