High Inning Pitchers Topic

If I had two picthers, one 800+IP and the other 600+IP, could they go back to back the whole season?

If you had some one else start the first game of the season. After you would have no problem.

Anybody with at least 220IP can start 81 games.

ok booger, how about if I wanted them to go 5-7 innings a game?
5/6/2010 11:59 AM
sure they could. you could even drop them to 500 ip each.

Wouldn't they get tired at 500 IP each?

you might have to spot start your long reliever and AAA sp a few games. but i've done this many times with success. kinda gets boring though after awhile. i like to micro manage a little too much

5*81=405
6*81=486
7*81=567

what about fatigue? would they be able to go back to back and still be around 100% every start?
5/6/2010 1:30 PM
I think appearance fatigue is at 70% of the team's games so if you're pitching them back to back and they have enough innings, it should be ok

If you want 5-7 IP a game, you can even drop down to 400 IP.

I started the 367 IP '94 Hemming (at Baker Bowl) and he averaged 4.9 IP per start over 81 starts as he picked up 396 IP on the season. If you had a pitcher with 400 IP and got your 10% out of him that works out to about 5.5 IP per start. Where 6 IP per start works out to about a 440 IP pitcher (with the 10%).

Using elbirdo's pitch allocation equation, 1885 Ed Morris (848 IP) is good for 12846 pitches in a season. Over 81 starts, that's 158.6 pitches per start.

1886 Lady Baldwin (642 IP) is good for 10014 pitches in a season. Over 81 starts, that's 123.6 pitches per start.

Looks like they could easily go back to back the whole season.
