In my opinion playing a big HR team in an OL is playing with a disadvantage, though that disadvantage can be overcome in an unbalanced league. people have won with HR teams though it's not as easy as winning with some other strategies.

If you like HR teams look at the theme leagues. some theme leagues reduce the HR disdavantage, and some extreme leagues greatly increase HR.

when I first came back i won with high HR high BB low avg players and good pitching. Then I saw more and more deadball pitchers and had trouble scoring runs. IMHO you cannot win in an open league with this strategy currently and yes I am an old time HOF'r.. came back with a new name.

Well I have had some half way Home run teams. They always get shut down in the playoffs. So I guess the thing is I really have to go all out on the Home run team.

Recently, I had a team lead the league in HR's while my pitching staff gave up the least amount of HR's. That team finished less than .500 and in last place. I think its was a $120m league or thereabouts.

Go with a hr and doubles team and put them in say, kingdome, and it can do very well. Before last update, I had a 105 win team based on doubles and hr. Things are a little diff now but this strategy should still be viable.

Thats a 'how do I win' question. Not "Booger approved". Not that anybody cares whether or not something is "Booger approved".
