If a pitcher has a high strand rate, does that mean he will be able to "bear down" when he gets into trouble? I have read that clutch hitting doesn't exist, does clutch pitching factor into the game?

no

The sim isn't real baseball. Intimidation, morale, "pitching around a hitter," clutchiness and other similar concepts don't exist in the sim.

So does "strand rate" mean nothing?

I never even look at strand rate, if it does it's a very small factor. Low oav and low bbs, along with low hr9 are the first things I look at.

The sim engine doesn't use it. It's just historical data.

Too bad, that'd be a nice factor to separate out some niche cookies and add value to relievers over short IP starters.
