I put my setting at zero and leave it.

I almost always set it to 0 or 1. If I have homer-prone pitchers it's 1; very occasionally in a +HR park with homer-prone pitchers I'll push it up to 2 against a team with a Ruth in the middle of the lineup. Otherwise 0 and 1.

Same here.

This is one of those things that is pretty easy to figure out for yourself if you're willing to put in a little time. In the 'team rankings' page, sort the league by wins, and then sort the league by IBB's given. Cross reference and repeat in another league. All variables other than IBB and Wins will cancel themselves out with enough data.

set at "1" nearly everytime. don't like IBB... when I used to keep it at 3, I always seemed to be hurt by them. Also despise walks in general in the SIM and draft accordingly

IBB are one of the worst plays in baseball. If Babe Ruth is followed by Mario Mendoza it is correct to walk him late in a close game. in most other situations it is an anti-percentage play.

I almost always set my IBB on 1 and leave it there. The only exception I can recall is when I have played against an extremely unbalanced line-up, I have knocked up the IBB settings a few notches.

100% agree. I set it at 0 and forget about it. It still kills me that in today's game, with all the new wave statistical analysis, that managers still routinely use the IBB.

I usually put it at 1, but there are occasions, I think, that higher settings are reasonable. If I know I'm starting a home run prone pitcher, and the opposing team has one really great hitter, but no one else to be really scared of, I've been known to bump it up to 3.

Rare case, but I don't know that it's best to set it anywhere and forget about it.

I'm bumping this because I would like an explanation how Sparky chooses to walk someone, or not. Here's what the general info says about it.

Intentional Walks setting controls the frequency with which opposing team's batters are intentionally walked. A less aggressive setting will rarely intentionally walk a batter, odd to fill first base with a man on second and one out. A more aggressive setting will walk power hitters with the bases empty and no outs.

--------------------

In Sparky's mind, what is the defintion of a "power" hitter. One with a HR/100AB# greater than 10?
