Yep, another negative post, I guess something must be wrong with the game, no smoke without fire...

I came back cause I was missing the fun I remembered having when I first joined WIS and had forgotten about the reasons that had me quit it over a year ago. Kinda like when you go back to an ex-girlfriend...

But my memory was quickly refreshed and it fast became obvious that the games lack of upgrades has exposed it's flaws to the point of regression...

I had a few free teams so I put some together, trying to go against the cookie flow of things, as usual trying to creatively defeat the cookie fascists...

But no, the game as it's degraded now has become a one way sewer... 3pts all-out offense or die... Draft 800 3PM at around 40% and they'll give you 50%, draft around 3000 FTA to get your opponents in foul trouble and over 4500 rebounds and there you go, no worries, other than having over half the other teams in the league doing the exact same thing, that's the problem with fascism...

What about defense?

Doesn't exist in this game. I've drafted a Bulls team with Jordan, Pippen, Rodman, Ben Wallace and Ron Harper and what happened? They got gang-banged for 130, 140 points. Then one game gave-up 160, in regulation...

That's when I decided to tank the team.

Still had credits so tried another team, yea, was still fantasizing about the past fun.

Magic, Dr J, Wilt, Rodman, Jordan, and guys like Mourning, Kermit and a few other great defenders on the bench. Great D team getting raped with 130, 140, 150 points per game....

You'd think that for the price, D would be effective, truth is, because of the ridiculously cheap price of offense, 3pts and FTA, it is worthless.

I've seen enough, this is NOT basketball, this is a 3pts contest.

Oh, I was forgetting about Theme Leagues, they can still be fun, WHEN, IF, they fill... Life's too short, I just don't have 6 weeks to wait for them to get started. Of course driving off faithfuls who use to create and play them by lack of feedbacks, activities and updates never helped... Banning some either...

Add to that the fact that the people in charge of this sim can't seem to run out of excuses for not doing anything about it, hey, he's/they's busy working on some newer, flashier toys, and you have a rotting, sinking vessel...

Glad I'm out of free teams, I won't be tempted to comeback again, one Brett Favre is enough... I'm leaving without even completing the two teams I have going at the moment.

And for those who might be worried, don't, I'm breezing out so the door won't even come close, nuthin but air...

i echo ltb's sentiment - you definitely were one of my WISNBA professors. hopefully we'll see you around if these guys ever get around to modifying the game play.

Totally agree. How is someone supposed to build a championship caliber team without excessive 3 point shooting? You need at least 1000 attempts or so nowadays.

It is a shame that in the current sim, Nash, Peja, and Allen together are better than Magic, MJ, and Larry.

U can win an OL without a ton of 3 pt shooting. My last OL team (about a year ago) won (going 12-2 in the playoffs) with most of the scoring coming from the SF, PF, C positions.

There haven't been any significant sim engine updates in over a year, so my alternate strategy would still work. I haven't played an OL since then because there isn't much motivation to do so with reduced reward points, already won more than one OL, etc.

I don't care about those players. I'm talking not drafting an abundance of 3s - as in drafting less than 500 3pm. And no, not a theme league, an open league. I don't think you win one in ten open leagues with less than 500 3pm.

LOL, u don't need 500 3ptm to win an OL. Set up a theme league with the exact same rules as an OL and I'll show u.

Show me. In an OL. A theme league, even with the same rules, won't attract the same group of owners.
