Random Realignment? Topic

In the last 2 days, I entered two leagues where the league schedule generated as normal, however there was no random realignment. The divisions were set up exactly how the teams were entered in chronological order. What gives?

If I'm not mistaken, the alignment is done "randomly" as teams enter the league.

Obviously you can't control what order owners get their teams in, so what is more random than that? As well, the divisions aren't always filled in order as teams enter the league.

Right.

What I am saying is that the new leagues in the last 2 days have all teams in the exact spot where the teams were first submitted. So if you are the first team entered, you are the first team in the NL East even after the league is full and the schedule is generated. If you were the second person to enter a team, then you are listed as the second team in the NL East, and so on down the line. Up until a few days ago, once all teams filled a league, the teams were randomly shuffled once the league's schedule was generated. In the past two days, there has been no shuffling.

Automatic realignment is an option that the league founder can select when he creates the league. If he does not, then the teams stay where they were - unless the founder chooses to manually realign or manually randomly realign from his league office.

also correct....however what bayne is trying to say, is that there have been leagues where the commish has properly set the random realign in the theme league wizard and yet the league has NOT realigned (as in the past) automatically when the schedule is generated.

I have played in two leagues with VERY experiences commishes where that has just happened recently and both said it was the second league of theirs in which this has happened.

you are, in fact mistaken.....yes, when an owner enters a team is a random event on it's own, but the teams are slotted in order as they are entered....and the divisions ARE filled in exactly the order that owners enter their teams into the league. the random realignment is an actual spin of the teams/divisions/leauges once a league has been filled and before gameplay begins.

And in addition, one of the two leagues I was referring to was a standard open league.

  • Bug fix: We introduced a bug on 1/15/2010 where open leagues were not re-aligning properly. This has been fixed today.

the odd thing to me is, this fix specifically says open leagues, but all of my experiences with this problem were in theme leagues.

did the fix take care of both???
