This is for a theme league--he has great stats, but at 141 IP and only ~1.8 IP/G what are the odds that I get anywhere close to his real life IP? If the answer is "reasonably close", then I'll take him because I have the salary and there aren't that many better options, but if I'm looking at paying 5.5M for only 100 or 110 innings of work, then I might look elsewhere.

On a side-note, how does he perform statistically? That will also determine if I draft him or look elsewhere.

I used him like a million years ago in a similar situation. He did pretty well. I think he pitched around 140 IP. I think.

If this is a 80 or 100 million cap, in a pitchers park, with reasonable defense, I would think you can get 1-2 innings out of him 90ish times a year.

I would set use him as setup A, pull 1, max PC 25 and minimum inning 7.

It would work great with a low IP closer type when he can't finish.

Used him twice...never again. My biggest under-performer of all time. Both times at a 90 mil cap.

I've had mixed results with Willie as far as performance, but never got 141 innings out of him.

Used him several times, but always in higher cap leagues (120+). I've never been happy, although I think you'll be able to get close to you innings' worth, if not your money's worth

I've used him once at $100m and was able to get his innings. Pretty much followed what TJ said above, but recall I used to have him enter in 6th inning and think I had him set a 20-20... best my memory serves.

I won't even consider Hernandez anymore even when he is the best option according to the stats.

Of course, I haven't used him in a long time. But EVERYTIME I used him he was underaverage for me.
