Just curious as to which owners still play ball?

I can't wait till my son gets old enough for me to coach his baseball team

I retired 4 years ago so I could coach and attend my girls' games.

I play in an over 30 baseball league (even though I'm 43). Very competitive league with a few ex-major leaguers (Rick Miller, Jason Bere, John Roper) and many ex-minor leaguers. We use wooden bats so it's much more realistic than the aluminum bat leagues. It's a great release to get together with guys who still have a passion for the game.

I've been asked many times about when I'm going to retire and I always give the same answer: the hitters will be the first ones to let me know when I need to retire (yes, I'm a pitcher-the dumbest animals on the planet)

Still play slowpitch softball 2 nights a week. This coming season will be my 19th year with my one team and 18th in CF. Some idiot talked me into being the backup SS the first year with the team and of course the regular guy never showed up. Boy was that one awful team, luckily we picked up some talent the next year.

Decided about 5 years ago to just keep playing until I either got hurt or started embarrassing myself. Luckily neither has happened yet so one more year coming up.

not playing, but coach my son's little league team and have done so for past 4 years. Gives me my fix. Quit playing hardball after high school and softball about 10 years ago when the bod started giving me fits.

....play SS on 2 ABA 'B' Division modified-arc mens softball teams (one Sunday, one weeknight). Both made it to the finals this past summer. Sunday team won a best 2 of 3, 2 games-0 - the weeknight team lost the same format 2-1.
Happened on back-to-back (sticky, muggy, humid Long Island)days in August(Sun & Mon) to boot.....

At 40, I'll keep playing 'til the body says so. At which point, I'll umpire........

I play slowpitch on a rather successful beer league team

We are about to move up a division where I expect us to have to stuggle to play .500.

Either way, I'm still a solid OF/P who gets on base a lot and runs bases like I smoked crack.

I played LF in townball last season. It is mostly guys home from college for the summer but I still managed to hold my own for the season off the bench. I hit like .250 but its wood bats and the first time I plaed baseball in nearly 6 years. 26 years old now.

I retired from even slow pitch at age 30 (16 years ago0 when I had my first hip replacement. Huge slow 1b with little range, but good hands & a great bat.

It's a tie whether I miss that or white water kayaking the most.

Can't go wrong kayaking "the whites"......
