3B out of position Topic

Sorry to post what may be a redundant question, but it's been a while since I was faced with this decision.

I am considering playing a C+/D 3B at 1B or RF to spell the guys I have there. He is not rated at either position. How poorly would I expect him to perform? My guess is he may be tolerable at 1st, but may be a disaster in the outfield. His offense is quite good though (2003 Bill Mueller) so I think it may be worth it, rather than drafting a backup at one of those spots...unless I find one with a great glove. It's a progressive, so it may not be too easy to do that.

my other option is to play my utility IF (2003 Alex Cintron) at these positions.

He is A/D at 2nd, B+/D+ at 3rd, and A-/D+ at SS. He would be manning the hot corner while Mueller plays out of position.

He'd probably be about D/D- in a corner OF spot. The only concern would be a crazy number of minus plays, but if it's only a few games, how bad could it be?

what is Cintron's primary position? His adjustment is based on that. I'd still probably be inclined to stick him at 3B since he's better than Mueller.
