Good grief, there’s a lot hitting at $80M Topic

I'm just trying out SLB after months and sheesh have things taken a skew.

Teams with huge batting capability can be put together at $80M and it seems very difficult for pitching to stand strong against it. At $80M!

Is this a case of WIS bending to the loud, whining cries of kid-in-a-candy-store customers, who want the sweets for cheap, but then get sour stomachs (with the rest of us) and just walk away?

Looks like if I dabble in SLB, it'll be in low-caps -- and OBP is still cheap, there.

Still like the game, but....

Willy Wonka, please come to WIS.

low caps are the place to play...

Is there more emphasis on a pitcher's fielding ability, more emphasis on their ability to hit for average, or a little of both?

The reason why it seems like there's a lot of hitting is because pitching, for the most part, got cheaper. People can afford better pitchers at a smaller cost. And if you eschew defense, you can get a lot of bang for the buck at the plate.

But I'm finding it's worth it to pay for good defense and give up a bit on offense.

Well i can testify that super great hitting paired with super bad fielding does NOT work - I am in last place with an anchor with that stratagy

Fielders with 'A-' ratings or worse are overpriced 90% of the time. It would be great if Admin worked on that in a future update so that the database of useable players would increase quite a bit. Theres a lot of old time players that are unique and would be fun to use, but are overpriced.

Interesting comments, dudes. More evidence that "MLB SimLeagues" is where true WIS forum genius makes its home.
