I'm just getting back into sim baseball, and I can't remember if you can change the starting pitcher for the upcoming game? I seem unable to in exhibition, unless there is some trick I am missing.

Nope, once he's locked in, you can't change him.

Well that really sucks. I wonder why they do that?

It's so the other team can set their lineup knowing who they're facing (and vice versa). If you're resting players, for example, you don't want to sit all your guys for RHP and all of a sudden have the other team pull a "switcheroo" at the last minute and start an LHP instead of the RHP they had listed...

I agree w/ most of your point, but a lhp/rhp switcheroo would not be the issue. We have separate lineups for that, remember?

Forget the /right switcharoo - what if you see I am starting Hi West and you set your lineup and take the opportunity to rest a couple of guys since you can. At the last minute I throw in Carlos Silva and I beat you.

Silva against a premium lineup is an underdog, but against four farm guys leading off, he is a favorite.

I have another question like this. I just clinched my division in a live league and have only 4 more games that dont sim until the 21st and my best starter Gaylord Perry is supposed to pitcher my next game in my three man rotation and im trying to save innings for him. Next to his name is the baseball meaning he is supposed start my next game that will get simmed cuz the guy hasnt played much live so is there anyway i can change it to a scrub pitcher so he doesnt have to throw any innings?

Nope, but you can set him at a 5 pull and max 40m pitches....
