Is this a good strategy? Topic

When you have two guys from the 1880s as SP and between them you have 1200-1350 IP- is it a good strategy to simply use those two as your Rotation? Just wondering...

sure. but i would cut the ip down a bit. you would probably leave a few innings in the tank at the end of the year.

Depends on the cap and the guys... using the old time pitchers will also limit your defense. Expect some errors.

That is too many IP in your rotation IMHO. Lets say, at most you need 1300 IP. If you have two guys with even 1200 IP total that leaves only 100 IP for the bullpen. That limits your PH options late in game and doesn't allow Sparky to chose relief pitchers based on the game situation. If you want a two man rotation, try two guys at 450 each-- better yet, try two guys that add to 800 IP and draft a cheap-o 100-150 IP guy as a mop-up/ spot starter.
