I can still tell you all of the details from my first WS team... that was like 6 years ago... and I remember every detail of my roster, my lineup, my pitching staff, my playoff runs and opponents... that's pretty much the one that has stood out. I only remember one other WS that well and it was my first progressive title from the SBPL. That was the craziest series ever and the closest I've ever been in: 7 games, and 6 went extra innings, and all 7 were decided by 1 run. But that first one... :) In fact, I'm going to build the team again and see how much they cost now. back in early '03 they were at $79.8m...
[EDIT:] Team now comes in at just under $85m... A couple of my hitters had good defense/range and saw their prices go up a bit over the years.
I remember drafting this team and not having # or + numbers in the search fields provided by WIS and the + numbers being added soon after my team won and realizing everyone I drafted normalized great. The only normalized stat I used before the + numbers were search-able was AB/HR since I took the time to create a spreadsheet for it from the lahmen(sp?) database and BR.
It was from jmbreslin's "Replacement's" theme league. $80m cap, choose an exclusive franchise in a draft and then everyone on your team had to have a RL WHIP above 1.30 and an OBP below .330. You could have one "star player" that was an exception, hitter or pitcher. I got the Yankees at the 9th pick (only because the Cubs went earlier) and, of course, made Ruth (1920) my star. We were the only 100 win team, winning 118, on the regular season, and swept the playoffs. I wish they had the TOC back then just to see how far they could have gone, but it was a few $$$ cheaper for each team, so...
