Neither team is mine, but it's from a 1906 prog I'm in:

You figure when you out-hit your opponent 8-0 you're going to win...

Here's another one from a few days back... not my teams either. This one went 10 innings.

I won a world series once when in game 6 I got no-hit and won the game 1-0. Pretty rare, but it can happen.

They had 5 baserunners who went 6/0 in stolen bases. Pretty wild game.

The second game had 4 baserunners who went 3/0 in stolen bases plus Rickey Henderson, in succession, tagging from second to third, then tagging from third to home to score the only run.

Looks like errors and great baserunning are the common theme.

The funniest thing about the boxscore I posted is the no-hitter thrower didn't get POG -- the winning team's relief pitcher, who pitched 3 innings allowing 1 hit, got it.

There's apparently a rule in place whereby POG can't be from the losing team. I think it's kind of silly. Give more weight to winning side's stats, sure; but when someone on the losing team is far and away the best player in a game, give it to him.

I dont think that's the case. I've seen several times where the player of the game was from the losing squad, usually a pitcher who "got shelled"

That's true. But I'm pretty sure I've never seen a POG from the losing team for doing something positive.

I don't really like the "got shelled" or "had a horrible day in the field" type POGs. I'd gladly trade those for players who had a great game but were on the losing end of the final score.
