you think a 400 P.A player could survive a season as a number 9 hitter. I plan on batting the pitcher 8th

Not even close. You get 10% bonus, so he'll give you 440PA at 100%. 480PA if you let him get down to 90%. I figure you need 625-650PA at that spot, meaning he'll be in the 50s by the end of the season.

the lowest ill go in that batting spot is 450 and then you have to give up about 25 games from him. i often use it at catcher and just get a cheap catcher that plays good D with a + arm and use two 200k-400k scrubs with good D and Arm for the 25 games.

Sure. Just utilize the managerial settings that some owners neglect. I usually target 470PAs or so for the 9 spot, so he might have sit here and there...

i might try it with an OFer because you can sometimes hide a decent fielding AAA guy in right field for a few games without it hurting you too much. but he wont play 150+ games for you, no way

Probably 140ish games at 100% if you allow him to come out after the 4th inning.

he is 400 and change so I'll give it a roll I get AAA so someone should be able to take a few games for him.

oh you have AAA, you will be fine. i usually play lg's w/o AAA

I do it all the time with AAA players playing a lot of games. If you get a bad AAA player at that position trade for a better one.
