I just finished a 1987 season in a progressive, and Pat Perry had a very unusual set of statistics. In the regular season, he went 0-8 in save opportunities. In the playoffs (lost in the world series), he rounded it out by going 0-2, making a total of 0-10. Why am I giving this terrible pitcher so many opportunities?
Regular Season: 3.33/.217/1.13 in 94.7 innings
Playoffs: 3.29/.279/1.39 in 13.7 innings
Unless it was a save opportunity, he was by far my best reliever. If there ever was the appearance of a good player lacking the mystical "clutch" ability, Perry was it.
Anyone ever had a player with more than 10 BS without a completing one?
