Can some one explain how pitch counts/ innings pitched work? New here and little confused. See 200 IP go 8 innings which is normal but see pitchers who have only 100 IP and also go 8 innings?? And not get rocked, how is this possibile?

Search for "in-game fatigue" and/or ip/g.

There are some good threads on this.

The 100 IP pitcher in your example could very well be a starter that for one reason or another only pitched 100 innings for the season.. You can review his stats by clicking on his name, then click on "actual statistics" and his stats for that season will be displayed. Look for ip/g which is the last stat displayed in the lower right hand side of the screen and you will see how many innings per game (on average) he pitched.

A pitcher with lower innings, total, for the season may be able to go a game, or even 2 or 3 without getting into serious fatigue problems, but the more innings a pitcher has pitched in RL, the more of those kinds of games he will be able to pitch in our game. If you have a pitcher with 450 innings, he could go almost every other game for the entire season. A pitcher with 100 innings could give you a few good starts, but that's all

Ok another question I also was told to take IP/Game and times it by 15.5 to figure out a pitch count. Now is that a straight calcuation or is that figure based upon certain amount of total IP pitched? For example if that figure 15.5 is for 200 IP, would 300 IP have a higher mulitple?

The 15.5 "works" for every pitcher, but it is only an approximation. There are several old threads that explain exactly how to calculate the exact number of pitches each pitcher has available.

And based on what admin has said, this way of accounting for fatigue will only exist until the next major update, at which point they will move to an IP-based system.

I use 16.5....

There are useful pitchers in the database with upward of 18 P/I.

There are some great pitchers under 15.
